Carvings African Mahogany wood locally known as 'Muhuhu'
is used to carve most of the wood figurines, masks, animals, etc. The carvers of the
Akamba tribe of Kenya produce most of these items. They Use only Chisels, and knives
on the wood to achieve the shape of the item they are carving. Then Sandpaper, and
polish is used to achieve the final smooth finish. No electrical tools are used. |
